Statistics and Data Science Thesis (English)

Today, almost everything has started to be measured and stored in parallel with the computer capacities strengthened by industrial and technical advances. The analysis of large numbers of data collected and the elimination of uncertain mechanisms in events have always been the tasks of Mathematical-Statistics Science. Obtaining data-based information gained importance and Data Science techniques were created in order to take precautions and make predictions about the future according to the analysis made by instantly evaluating the collected data. As a combination of disciplines such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, Data Science has become more important and popular than ever before. As a result of these developments, the world's leading universities have added Data Departments to their Master's programs. Data Science includes methods at the intersection of computational AI process, machine learning, statistics and database systems. Graduates of these Master's Programs around the world easily find jobs in business, government, financial services, biology, medicine, risk and intelligence, science and engineering, and data mining. Istanbul Gedik University Data Science Master's Program, unlike its counterparts, focuses not only on Data Science Techniques, but also attaches importance to Data Analysis theory. As it is known, there is no theory without practice and no practice without theory. On the other hand, when mathematical-statistical information is given only as pure theory, it cannot raise problem-solving staff in practice.
